Tip #1: Store Vertically
The best way to store your seamless paper roll when not in use is in a vertical position. This is to prevent gravity from weighing the paper down on itself over time and causing ripples in the roll, as it would do if left lying horizontally. If you need to store your paper roll horizontally for a short time that is perfectly acceptable, but it’s not something you want to leave permanently. We recommend using our Seamless Paper Storage Clip (featured below).
Tip #2: Do Not Leave Hanging
Don’t leave your backdrop hanging on its stand as long-term storage. This can cause ripples in the roll, due to gravity weighing the paper down.
Tip #3: Keep Dry
Evaluate the environment of your storage and workspace for issues with humidity. Paper stored and used in humid conditions will absorb moisture from the air which can form wrinkles and ripples.
Tip #4: Use Shipping Boxes / Tubes
Seamless Paper is shipped in sturdy shipping tubes or boxes. These can be good to keep for storage and transport. They can help protect the rolls for sun-damage and other external elements that may damage the paper. You can make your own tubes with a 4-inch PVC pipe. Remember to buy the caps if you are making your own storage tubes. Both ends should have a cap that fits on securely to prevent dust, other airborne particles and sunlight from soiling or fading the backdrop.
Remember to still store the rolls vertically, even if they are in the boxes. We do not recommend stacking boxes for horizontal storage.
